Privacy notice
Volunteer Connections is a free volunteer-discovery service operated by What Builds. Visitors can search profiles without creating an account. We do not collect volunteer applications or handle volunteer communications.
Information nonprofits provide
Organizations submit a public display name, description, location, cause, website, and official volunteer link or email. We also collect privately the organization's legal name and EIN, plus the submitting person's name, role, authenticated email, certification, and submission date for verification and accountability.
What visitors can see
Approved public profiles display the organization's commonly used name and the public contact details it supplies. EINs, private legal names, registrant identities, reviewer notes, and internal registration records are not made public. An authorized representative disputing their organization's listing may be given relevant registrant information after reasonable verification.
Accounts and platform services
Nonprofit representatives and administrators use secure email login. Hosting, database, and authentication providers process information needed to operate the service. Essential technical logs and security records may also be processed by those providers. Volunteers should review the privacy policies of any nonprofit or signup website they choose to visit.
Corrections and removal
Organizations may update or hide their own listing. An authorized representative can request corrections, access to relevant registration details, or removal by contacting What Builds through whatbuilds.com. Records may be retained as reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, disputes, security, and legal compliance.
